Sponsor the 3rd Annual Original Black Kinderhook Family Reunion & Pinkster Fest

Picture
A delightful, educational admission-free afternoon for the entire family!
The Family Reunion brings together the descendants of those who were enslaved at Lindenwald for a brief ceremony of remembrance at the slavery-era Persons of Color Cemetery (a national historic site) where some of their ancestors are interred.
The Pinkster Fest re-creates the slavery-era Afro-Dutch celebration of spring. Unique to the upper Hudson Valley, Pinkster was the time of year when the enslaved were given time off to meet with farflung friends and family for a few days of fun, merriment and commerce.
Educational History Exhibitions
11 exhibitors portraying Dutch NY’s unique history

Cultural Entertainment
8 costumed performers provide culturally appropriate entertainment
