"Wax Print" or "Ankara" fabric uniquely represents both Dutch and African heritage. When Dutch merchants saw "batik" fabrics being made in Indonesia, they were anxious to reproduce the look. They soon introduced the technique of dyeing over wax resists to their colonies in West Africa, where it quickly took on its own vibe, with bright colors and intricate patterns. Our Ankara fabric is purchased in Ghana and Mali. For these mirrors, we use a special process to adhere the fabric to the wooden base, then add a water-based top coat for durability.

Our mirrors are 10x10", with a 3.5" square mirror in the center. Hanging hardware is included. Please purchase first, then email us with your pattern choice.
